What are terms and conditions?

Terms and conditions are the standing rules a business attaches to everything it sells: how payment works, what cancellation costs, what the business is and is not liable for, and how disputes get handled. They are a contract, just one written once and applied to every customer.

Common examples: a coach's 24-hour cancellation policy, a photographer's image-rights terms, a store's refund window, an app's acceptable-use rules.

They differ from a signed agreement only in mechanics. A client accepts T&Cs by checking a box or booking a session, rather than negotiating each line. That makes them ideal for repeatable services where the rules never change, with the personal details, names, dates, price, living in the shorter document that references them.
